When everyone and everything else in the world is your worst enemy. 

Some days it seems like everyone and everything else in the world is your worst enemy. 

 

You think that it’s…

  • because your parents were hard on you

  • because your spouse has ‘issues’

  • because your job doesn’t pay well enough

  • because your job demands too much from you

  • because, because, because…

You feel angry, resentful and frustrated a lot of the time.

 

You indulge yourself by blaming others. You justify that extra drink / cake / episode / shopping spree. You stay up late (‘cos you never get any time for yourself) and hit snooze the next morning. You feel sorry for yourself and doubt yourself. You’re distracted, not fully engaged in or applying yourself to your work. You haven’t taken total responsibility for yourself. You abdicate your decisions to other people; their moods, their agendas, not trusting your own ability to make sound decisions. You don't have your own back.

 

None of it is sitting well with you. 

 

This, my friend, is a turning point in your life. 

 

As I arrived at the milestone of four decades on the earth I thought, “I can't go on like this”

 

I wanted to change so badly. I was sick to the back teeth of the life I had, and I was also sick to the back teeth of my own behaviour (See the comprehensive list above 🙄) 

 

I also understood that my thoughts, feelings and actions created my results and so I committed myself to finding new thoughts, feelings and actions that would create a new results for me. 

 

I quit smoking, drinking and took up running. I stopped listening to the Today Program on Radio 4 (doom and gloom) and found a Life Coach that I loved. I devoured her lessons, applying every single concept and lesson she taught me.

 

I started to talk to myself like a friend telling myself “You're amazing” (even though I didn't believe it at first)

 

I'm here today, talking to you as your Life Coach because of new decisions I made. 

 

In order to change, you have to make new decisions and apply them. 

 

My brain did NOT want to change and make new decisions. It wanted to maintain the status quo, even at the expense of my own long term happiness.

 

Your brain won’t want to make the effort to change either. 

 

It will feel scary and uncomfortable.

 

But in order to get new results in your life you have to make new decisions and those decisions will feel uncomfortable in the moment. Your brain will want to trade your short term comfort by avoiding making new decisions for your long term happiness.

 

Working with a Life Coach helps you to navigate those new decisions. It helps you to see where you've been avoiding change, keeping yourself stuck in the same old patterns. A Life Coach helps you do all of this whilst learning the skill of high self regard for yourself and all the past decisions that got you to this point. 

 

Making new decisions and taking new actions from a place of high self regard is the way to become your own best friend.
